Plantar Fasciitis

Adhesive Brace Application

Tip: Get it snug.

Proper application should remove pain.

If still painful after applying, then tighten big toe side.

  • ALLERGY WARNING: This tape uses latex-based adhesives. Those with latex allergies should not use this tape product. Discontinue use if a skin reaction presents.

    1. Wash your feet. Clean, dry, and free of lotion helps the tape stick best.

    2. Pick up section 1 and peel paper backing from rounded edge of tape.

    3. Affix rounded edge of tape over the ball of your foot just under the base of your toes.

    4. Peel off the remainder of section 1 paper backing, keep the split tails separated, then loosely and temporarily affix to either side of your heel.

    5. Pick up section 2 and peel paper backing from long arms of tape.

    6. Gently separate arms and adhere point of junction under the midpoint of the ball of your foot.

    7. Wrap long arms around big and little toe joints to affix on the top of your foot.

    8. Peel off the remainder of section 2 paper backing, keep the split tails separated, then loosely and temporarily affix to either side of your heel - joining with section 1 tails.

    9. Firmly rub the ball of your foot to ensure adhesion.

    10. Relax foot- pull the tails of sections 1 and 2 towards your heel to create tension (will secure tails in steps 11 and 12).

    11. Wrap both tails of tape on the side of your small toe around the back of your heel and firmly rub to secure.

    12. Pull both tails of tape on the side of your big toe around the back of your heel and firmly rub to secure on the outside of your foot.

    13. Remove paper backing from section 3, stretch tape about 3/4 tension, and secure horizontally across the ball of your foot with ends wrapping just over the top of your foot. Firmly rub to adhere.

    *Adjustment*

Up to an hour after application, the tape may stretch a little bit. Peel back the tail of the tape from the outside of your foot (attached in Step 12) apply greater tension, then firmly rub to resecure on the outside of your foot.

  • Tensioning and Tenderness

1 ) Tension in application should remove pain.

2 ) Should tighten the tape about an hour after fresh application as fibers give a little.

3 ) If tenderness creeps back in over the first three days… remember that means the repair is getting damaged… tighten the straps.

    Showers and Water

1 ) This is a cotton-based tape. It handles water just fine.
